What a website from ACS is

A custom WordPress site with a theme written for you, no page builder, and content stored in fields your team can edit without breaking the layout. Every template is designed for the two or three things a visitor came to do, tested against WCAG 2.2 AA and Core Web Vitals before launch, and handed over with training and a written summary of how it works.

We have built more than five hundred of them since 1986, from a six-page site for a Frederick contractor to a streaming brand’s marketing site with a catalog that changes weekly and a biotech company’s gated professional portal with regulatory review built into the publishing flow.

How the work is organized

Website redesign is the full project: discovery, structure, content, design, build, launch. WordPress development is for teams that have a design or a site and need it built or extended: custom themes, plugins, and integrations. Ecommerce covers WooCommerce stores with real catalogs and B2B pricing. Maintenance and hosting, accessibility, and performance are the services that keep a site working after launch, whether we built it or someone else did. The website audit is where most relationships start when a site exists but nobody is sure what is wrong with it.

Why no page builder

Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, and Avia produce sites that are fast to assemble and slow to run, and every one of them locks the content inside its own shortcodes. Two years later the plugin updates, the layout breaks, and the person who built it is gone. We have rebuilt dozens of those sites, including our own. A custom theme means the pages load in under a second, the content survives a redesign, and any WordPress developer can maintain it.

What it costs

Most business websites we design and build run $8,000 to $25,000. A six-to-ten-page site for a local business sits at the low end; a thirty-to-sixty page site with custom integrations sits at the high end. Ecommerce builds and multi-language or gated sites are quoted separately. The estimate is fixed after discovery, and it is the number you are billed. Maintenance runs monthly; audits start at $5,400 for the four-discipline version.

Who does the work

Two lead developers, Dan Crowe and Paul Molina, build every site. Chris Howell or Rob Smelik designs it. The person on your kickoff call is one of them, and they stay on the project through launch and the support period after. There is no account manager translating between you and the people building your site, which is why our clients describe us as responsive in seventy of eighty Google reviews.
