A WordPress site that stays current without anyone having to remember.
ACS Creative provides maintenance and hosting for businesses in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC, and clients nationwide. Outdated PHP, themes, and plugins are the most common way a WordPress site gets compromised, and unoptimized images are usually the single biggest drag on load time. We fix both in one pass, then keep it that way on a monthly schedule.
My medical practice has really struggled with the overwhelming task of updating our website to WordPress and a more mobile-friendly format.
What's included
- One-time catch-up pass: PHP, core, theme, plugins, vulnerability scan
- Monthly updates with backup verification
- Uptime and vulnerability monitoring
- Security hardening: logins, permissions, headers
- Image optimization and caching
- A short written status note every month
Who this is for
Any business running WordPress without a developer on staff. If nobody at your company can say when the site was last updated, this is for you.
Where we do this work
Frederick, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Bethesda, Columbia and everywhere we serve.
What goes wrong without it
Outdated PHP, themes, and plugins are the most common way a WordPress site gets compromised, and the second most common is a plugin that was abandoned two years ago and nobody noticed. The site slows down, the forms stop sending, a security scanner flags it, or one morning it is serving pharmaceutical ads. Every one of those is cheaper to prevent than to recover from, and we have done both.
What the plan includes
- Monthly core, theme, and plugin updates in controlled batches with testing after each
- A full backup before every change, with restores tested
- Vulnerability scanning against published advisories, and patching or replacement of anything with an open one
- Uptime and performance monitoring with alerts to us, not to you
- Admin user, login protection, SSL, file permission, and security header review
- A short written status note each month, and a person to call when something is off
Hosting
We host on managed servers we control, with staging environments, daily offsite backups, and PHP and database versions we keep current. If you prefer your own host, the maintenance plan works there too. If you are on shared hosting from a registrar, the first thing we will suggest is leaving it.
What it costs
Maintenance is billed monthly at $135 an hour in fifteen-minute increments against time used, which for most sites works out to two to four hours a month. A one-time catch-up pass for a site that has fallen behind runs three to eight hours. Hosting is quoted separately based on traffic and storage.
Common questions
What does a maintenance pass cost?
A one-time catch-up is typically three to four hours at our hourly rate. Monthly plans are billed against time used in 15-minute increments.
Do you fix hacked sites?
Yes, quoted separately after we see the damage. Most recovery projects end with the client on a maintenance plan so it does not happen again.
Can you work with our hosting?
Yes. We need admin access to WordPress and to the hosting control panel.
Do you host?
Yes, on our own managed servers, or we maintain the site on your hosting.
What happens if an update breaks something?
We take a full backup first, test after each batch, and roll back if a critical function breaks.
How fast do you respond to problems?
Same business day for anything that affects visitors.
